Creative marketing campaigns come in many shapes and forms. One of the most challenging from a technical and creativity point of view was a project for Nespresso Professional.

Nespresso Professional is the division that focuses on the B2B market, with a separate range of high-volume machines a comprehensive selection of high-quality coffees to go with them. The pods have a different shape to the consumer pods and can’t be used in consumer machines. The coffee machines are installed into workplaces and hospitality venues that serve high volumes of coffee to their staff, patrons or guests.

The marketing challenge to DesignStreet was to develop a solution that would enable an effective set of instructions on how to use the machine to accompany the machine’s installation, plus information on the range of coffees that could be selected. All of this had to be done in a paperless manner for reasons of the environment and so that they were long lasting and professional.

The solution had to cater for 6 different levels of coffee machine. And be able to be matched to the specific machine selected by the customer.

To say this was a complex project would be an understatement. However the end result enables all the right information to be available at the right place, and all displayed on digital screens that feature the Nespresso brand prominently and powerfully.

The tablets can be updated to accommodate new machines and coffees that are added to the range, and the Nespresso account managers can install the program updates themselves on their customer visits.

Each tablet featured an App that we sourced that enabled us to program the device with specifics regarding the installed machine plus all the other information. Each tablet takes over two hours to set up in terms of programming and preparation time.

The tablets are then taken to the customer an installed on a small aluminium rest alongside the machine. We have done a few hundred individual tablets to date.

Our solution was ingenious

It involved a digital solution where we purchased Lenovo tablets (like an Apple iPad) and created a comprehensive array of artworks that covered everything customers needed to know about how to operate it, as well as detailed information on the coffee selections.
